Yes! Glass bottles and jars, with their lids, must be returned clean and dry each week. There is a $10 fee for unreturned bottles/jars, and a $5 fee if a bottle/jar is returned dirty.
We’ll text/email you each week before we harvest, and you’ll have until that week’s cutoff time (48 hours before your scheduled pickup) to add extras to your order.
You’ll receive another reminder on pickup day with your pickup instructions.
Remember to bring your reusable glass bottles!
Raw milk is not pasteurized, so it must be handled with care to stay fresh and safe.
Bring a cooler with ice to every pickup. Milk needs to stay cold from the moment you collect it until it's in your refrigerator at home — even a short drive on a warm day is long enough to shorten its shelf life. A cooler with ice packs or loose ice is required for transport from the drop site to your home; an insulated bag on its own isn't enough in Colorado summer heat.
Refrigerate immediately when you get home. We recommend keeping milk at or below 38°F for best quality.Use clean glassware only when pouring or storing the milk.
Note: We take every precaution to keep our milk clean and cold. However, raw milk is unpasteurized and may carry risks for some people.
Yes! Members can add on additional raw milk, kefir, yogurt, and cheese to any order, as available. The shop link will be sent to you after sign-up before weekly order closes.
A Herd Share program provides a way for you to get raw milk that would otherwise be illegal in our state.
In the state of Colorado, the only way for you to legally acquire raw milk is if you own the animal the milk comes from. But who’s got time for animal care and twice-daily milking? We do! And we love doing it.
When you join our Herd Share program, you get access to fresh raw goat milk while we do all the work of caring for the animals so you don’t have to.
A Herd Share program model allows families to:
- Access fresh, raw goat milk from animals they co-own
- Know exactly how the animals are raised
- Build a direct relationship with their farmer
- Support small-scale, transparent agriculture
- Keep it personal and local
When you join Pine Hills Pastures’ Herd Share program, you’ll receive fresh raw goat milk weekly, just like a milk subscription from your own goats.
You’ll pay a one-time Buy-In Fee to purchase your share of the herd.
You’ll pay a monthly Boarding Fee for the day-to-day care of your animals and processing of your dairy products.
You’ll pick up your milk weekly on your scheduled pickup day from our farm or one of our drop locations. Remember to bring your empty and clean bottles from the previous week.
Note: The milk from our farm is provided exclusively to herd share members in accordance with Colorado law.
